PFERD offers a wide range of tools made of coated abrasives for machining different workpiece geometries and materials. They consist of a backing material, a base bond and a cover bond for fixing the abrasive grains. Depending on the grit size, high stock removal or a very fine surface finish can be achieved with tools made of coated abrasives. The backing materials available for selection differ in their properties such as tear resistance, flexibility and wear. By selecting the appropriate backing, the abrasive tool is adapted to the requirements of the intended application: Paper is found in the woodworking industry and in crafts, e.g. carpenters, painters and varnishers, fabric is mainly used in metalworking, and vulcanized fiber is very wear-resistant and is mainly used in different thicknesses for the manufacture of fiber sanders. The set contains an application-oriented selection of fiber grinders for aggressive grinding with maximum stock removal on hard, poorly heat-conducting materials. Constant maximum performance due to self-sharpening ceramic grain. Grinding-active additives in the coating achieve a significantly higher stock removal rate, prevent clogging and produce cooler grinding.
