Halder - Floating clamp, compact design, combined clamping and locking M 12
Item-No.: 17000197001
The floating clamp is used for clamping and supporting of over-determined clamping points on components.
The advantages of the floating clamp are:
- Vibration inhibition during machining.
- Clamping of ribs, beads and tabs for stiffening with clamped components.
- Deformation-free clamping of raw parts.
- Reduced clamping height due to compact design.
Material
Adjusting sleeve
- Aluminium, red anodized
Base body
- Carburized steel, nitrided, manganese-phosphated and ground
Clamping jaws
- Carburized steel, nitrided, manganese-phosphated
Assembly
- Fix floating clamp (fixing holes for M 6, see installation sketch) to fixture.
- Adjust height stop and swivel range with adjusting sleeve and clamp with grub screw (4x SW 2.5). When adjusting the height limit upwards, allow for generous play (workpiece tolerance).
Operation
- Press the floating clamp down.
- Swivel the clamping jaws in as far as they will go. Floating clamp is applied with slight spring force at the bottom of the workpiece.
- Tighten the floating clamp with hexagon nut (SW 18) (min. torque 15 Nm, max. torque 30 Nm). During the clamping process, the workpiece is clamped and supported at the same time.
- Unclamping takes place in the reverse sequence of steps.
Notes
For specific clamping situations, the clamping jaws supplied as standard can be modified or replaced. For specific clamping situations, the clamping jaws supplied as standard can be modified or replaced (see catalogue drawing: screw ISO 4762 - M8 - 12.9, M max. = 43 Nm).
Accessories
As accessories, we offer replacement jaws with enlarged clamping range - see 23320.0050-0058, as well as pendulum jaws - see 23320.0148-0156.
