Knurled knobs are made of blue, visually or metal detectable and FDA compliant plastic granules according to FDA CFR.21 and EU 10/2011. The blue colour is particularly visible to the human eye, but is also very well detected by optical monitoring systems. This means that the production process, e.g. of foodstuffs, can be monitored and, should foreign bodies have entered the process, interrupted. The plastic of the MDB version is enriched with metal detectable additives. Metal detectors respond to this material from a particle volume of approx. 0.125 cm3 and thus also detect hidden plastic splinters.
