Quick-release knurled nuts are used when the nut is to be pulled off completely after loosening and quickly returned to the clamping position. The knurled nut is slipped onto the threaded bolt at an angle. When tightening, the nut engages in the threads of the bolt. However, functional reliability is only ensured if the clamping surface is at right angles to the threaded bolt.
