Sensor holders or other elements such as gearshift levers or cams can be attached to shafts and axles using the mounting tapped holes of the split stainless steel adjusting rings. They can be mounted easily and securely with strong clamping force by reducing the slot height without damaging the surface of shafts and axles. In contrast to slotted set collars, split set collars can also be mounted radially. The thread d3 is designed as a through hole for sizes d1 = 30 to 36, and as a blind hole from size d1 = 42.
