High-strength, curved shackles are manufactured in accordance with US Federal Specification RR-C-271 and feature 6-fold safety. The minimum breaking load is therefore at least 6 times the value of the rated load capacity (WLL). The curved shape is particularly suitable for applications with multiple shackles. The nominal size and the nominal load capacity (WLL) are forged onto the shackle, which facilitates the safe allocation of the sling. In general, the rated capacity must not be exceeded. The design with nut and cotter pin (form B) is generally recommended for permanent connections. The bolts can rotate and the nuts are secured against unintentional loosening by a split pin.
