Holding magnets are a shielded magnet system that is rubber encased. The rubber coating protects sensitive surfaces from damage by the magnet and also provides a large coefficient of friction, resulting in high lateral holding forces. Their dimensions, in particular the hole spacing m and the threads d2, are matched to use with clamp holders.
