Linear ball bearings with partially external travel are used, for example, for the bearing arrangements of drawers and sliding doors or in jig and fixture construction for movement in the linear direction. The running rail and the slider rail are of the same length. The travel of the runner bar is on one side, and with the stop screw removed on both sides, slightly more than half outside the rail. Thus a stroke is achieved which slightly exceeds half or the complete rail length. The limitation of the max. stroke should be ensured by external elements, the stops of the rail serve as protection against unintentional pulling out of the slider bar.
