Telescopic linear ball bearings comprise two linear ball bearings connected by an intermediate plate. They are used when the lateral space conditions require a small width and at the same time large strokes are required. The S-shape of the intermediate plate gives the arrangement a very high rigidity.
The rails and the intermediate plate are the same length. Both rails can be extended to such an extent that a stroke is achieved which is longer than the basic length l1.
The limitation of the max. stroke should be ensured by external elements, the stops of the rail are damped by elastomers and serve to protect against unintentional extension of the runner rail.
