Stainless steel cap screws can be "captive-locked" in a simple way, e.g. in a cover, by means of the thin shank d3. This ensures the "captivity of the fastening element" in accordance with the Machinery Directive 2006 / 42 / EC.
For this purpose, a thread d1 must be provided on both sides instead of a normal through / threaded hole, if necessary with a corresponding clearance hole d4. Depending on the design and clamping thickness a1 ... a3 of the cover, a choice can be made between the design variants shown.
