Hinges can be used to lock doors and flaps in any angular position. Unactuated, the clamping lever is not connected to the thread of the hinge pin, i.e. it can be turned freely. Only when the handle is pressed down does the lever hub engage in the serration and the hinge can then be fixed or clamped. Accidental release of the hold-open is thus largely excluded. In addition, it is ensured that the clamping lever does not hinder the movement of the door or flap. If the door or flap is to be adjusted, the clamping must be released before the hinge can be swivelled into the new position.
